This is my first year properly celebrating the holidays in a long time. My family doesn’t really anymore, so I’d become accustomed to the same. This year isn’t about Christmas per se though. It’s a celebration of my life, my new home, and the many changes over the last year.
I wasn’t sure how I’d be spending Christmas Day or what to expect. Change has been constant and rapid. For example, plans to exchange gifts with my fiancé’s family were thwarted just a day ago, as neither side can travel over the borders anymore. Just like that a plan made a week ago, had to be changed. In other cases, plans were cancelled altogether, and I’m sure most of you can relate.
Despite all this, if you’re reading it means you’re okay. You’re alive.
Whether you’re alone this season, stuck with a rowdy bunch, or having a quiet time just the two of you – you’re here.
Merry Christmas, Frohe Weinachten, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noël, and for all the native languages I missed . . .
Happy, HAPPY, Holidays :)!
Alone this season? Cuddle up with multi-genre reads on my Fiction page :).
