Random Wednesdays: Don’t Panic!

Hey all and welcome to the midweek post. Hope you’ve been having a great week so far and taking all ups and downs in stride :).

fantasy1Today’s isn’t the usual Wednesday fare, but as we creep closer to the end of 2014, I wanted to share these recent observations with you all :).

I was working on The Wardens Series season 2 recently and before I met the deadline I started to panic. I started dwelling on all the things I hadn’t yet done for the year and with a few weeks left, began to let myself go into ‘internal shrieking mode’.

Then one day, as I was feverishly working on one of the episodes in the series, it hit me. A voice inside said “Stop worrying, look at all fantasy2you’ve already accomplished for 2014, look at how far you’ve come and how much you’ve learnt.” Of course another, louder voice was quick to interject, making sure to take jabs at the writing I’d wanted to finish this year and the fact that most of it was left untouched. After a rowdy back and forth, all was quiet as I allowed the words of the first voice sink in.

So often we focus so intently on what we haven’t yet completed, that what we have done, more or less escapes us. I don’t want to be that person who can’t sit back and just be happy about my accomplishments big or small anymore. What about you?

Jacob's Apocalypse coverAs a quick bonus (largely because the title of today’s post reminded me of it) here’s the short story Don’t Stop! taken from – Jacob’s Apocalypse and Other Stories which is my free collection of speculative short and flash fiction ^_^: ‘Enjoy here.’

What makes you panic? Share with me in the comments below :)!

Have a great evening all and I’ll see you Friday ^_^!
