Random Wednesdays: Queen of the Black Gate (Excerpt 4)

Hey all, here’s to a making it to the midweek relatively unscathed *clinks glass* ^_^.

wed1Queen of the Black Gate, my dark fantasy WIP, has reached the quarter-way mark and in celebration I wanted to share another short excerpt. This one is taken from Chapter 3 and is a moment where you realise it’s always best to stay on Aeshma’s good side. Enjoy :):

~ “Queen, we were only following orders, I swear it, please do not harm us!” shouted another, quivering in pain. Targo had done a number on this one and with no chance of healing, the gashes that covered her body festered and rotted. Aeshma pressed her lips together, crouching to look the wed3blood drinker in the eye. She pushed the woman’s dark hair away from her face and soothingly wiped fresh red tears. Whispered,

“The only orders that count vampyr, are mine.” With that Aeshma held her prisoner’s head in her hands, turning and breaking the vampyr’s neck with a quick movement. “Targo, weapon.” Targo obeyed immediately, handing a sword to Aeshma. The queen pushed the blade through the vampyr’s heart, stepping quickly back as she dissolved into a mess of blood, bones and hair, before finally becoming unmerciful dust. ~

I continue to grow more in love with this character each time I sit to write her story and will share more from Queen of the Black Gate in the coming months.

Thanks for joining me lovely readers and I’ll see you Friday ^_^!

Please note: After a short break the beginning of Chapter 16: Glamorous Lies, will be posted on Saturday, August 2, 2014 on ‘Jackie Jones on Wattpad.’. Look out for the Awakening Character Guide soon and catch up with the story using the link above, as with only FIVE chapters left, you’ll want to catch up ^_^.
