mon1Don’t worry about traffic,” a good friend and fellow writer Ashlee Cox @ash_lee4′ likes to say. She likens progress to driving along and having cars pass you by at times, but in the end you’re still getting to your destination.

I really love this little quote and think it definitely is one to try and remember. We’ve all mon2had moments where we feel like everyone else is getting ahead of us, where, we can’t see any of the progress we’re making even though it’s staring us right in the face.

When I feel these feelings come on, I try to push them away and I know the more I focus on my own path, the easier it will be to not even be aware of the other ‘cars’ on the road. I won’t be concerned with if one individual has overtaken me and is now in mon3the fast lane, or if there’s another inching up to my bumper. It just won’t matter.

The deeper issue really is having more security within ourselves and our work. Believing in what we’re doing and our ability to do it. We each have unique points of view, voices that are ours and ours alone, why tarnish them by worrying about everything else but what we’re meant to be doing?

mon4So, let’s work towards forgetting about traffic. Focus on the road ahead and progress as only we can.
